Flat Roof Repair and Coating in Ocala, FL, June 2025
A stucco building in Ocala with a flat roof tucked behind parapet walls, a long rack of AC condensers and several turbine vents. The membrane was repaired in the spring, and in June 2025 a white silicone coating was rolled over the roof.

What you are looking at
The first photo looks across the coated roof under a blue sky with scattered clouds. The coating is bright white from the AC rack on the left to the low stucco walls on the right. Faint lines still cross the surface where the sheets of membrane underneath overlap, because a coating follows the surface it goes over instead of hiding it.
Photos Brehm took on a March visit show the same roof before any work: the white membrane was streaked with dirt, littered with leaves along the parapets and dotted with old patches. Photos Brehm took in April show a roofer kneeling by the AC stand legs with a hot-air welder, the tool that fuses new patches of membrane in place. The bucket in the June coating photos is labeled silicone.
Stucco is part of this roof too. Piers and short walls rise above the roof line, and photos Brehm took on June 25 show two roofers filling their cracks with a white sealer. In the second photo the wall on the left still carries those white streaks, with a tan metal flashing strip along its base. One pier, at the back of the first photo, is coated white above its metal band.
The condensers sit on a metal rack, and each leg stands in a small square box at roof level. Spots where something passes into a flat roof are the usual places to watch, so each box in this photo was coated white along with the roof around it. One leg still shows a dark smear of sealant just above its box.
Photo four looks along a parapet wall. A pipe rises through a stepped pipe flashing, and the coating runs up the base of the wall, where it shines in the sun. The rectangular opening at the foot of the wall is a scupper, a drain that lets water leave the roof through the parapet.
The last photo was taken on June 26, with the fresh coating glossy in the sun. It shows how much equipment shares this roof: a row of condensers, several turbine vents and a small rooftop enclosure, with tall trees and palms close around. Under the Florida sun, a white roof reflects much of the light, which helps limit heat build-up.
