Shingle Roof Replacement in Alachua, FL
A one-story stucco home on a wooded lot in Alachua, with a screened pool enclosure out back and a roof made up of hips, gable ends and valleys. In November 2025 the old gray shingles came off and Owens Corning Duration Designer Colors shingles in Sedona Canyon went on in their place.

What you are looking at
The first two drone frames show how much roof this house carries. Wings run off in several directions, so the roof breaks into hips, a few gable ends and a lot of valleys, the inside corners where one plane meets another. Three skylights sit in the middle section, and the straight-down view lays out the footprint with the pool cage tucked against the back.
Sedona Canyon is a blend, not a single color. In full sun the tabs read as rust, tan and a warm orange-gold with some brownish gray mixed in, and from the drone the whole roof settles into a muted brown. The line and color names are printed on the bundle wrappers in photos Brehm took while the shingles were going on.
Photos Brehm took in October show the roof before: gray shingles with light-colored round vents. Photos Brehm took during the tear-off show the old layer stripped to the wood deck, a few sections of deck cut out and new plywood fitted in, then a dark underlayment held down with red plastic cap nails. Lengths of white drip edge, the metal trim that finishes each roof edge, show up in those photos as well.
Ventilation is easy to pick out in the close views. Along the ridges, rounded cap shingles sit over a ridge vent, and boxes of Owens Corning VentSure ridge vent strip appear on the roof in the install photos. Brown dome vents sit lower on the slopes, and the plumbing vent pipes are brown too, close to the shingle color. Moving air through the attic helps limit heat build-up under a Florida sun.
Near the pool enclosure, a stucco-covered chimney with a dark metal cap rises through the roof. The close frame shows the new shingles laid up to its base and a white-trimmed gable eave just below it, with a lower section of roof in its shadow.
The last photo was taken from the roof in mid November under a clear blue sky. It looks down a long slope of new shingles toward large shade trees, an open lawn and a tall tree whose leaves had started turning yellow.
