Shingle Roof Replacement in Williston, FL, January 2026
A one-story country home in Williston with pale yellow board siding, a long gable roof and a lower roof that wraps over the front porch and a carport. In January 2026 the old dark shingles came off and Owens Corning Duration shingles went on, the name printed on the bundle wrappers in Brehm's job photos.

What you are looking at
The overhead view shows how the house fits together. The main roof is a long gable with its ridge running end to end. On the front, a lower roof steps out over the porch and turns the corner over the carport, and where those two sections meet a hip line runs down to the outside corner.
The new shingles mix lighter and darker tabs through every course. In the drone frames, where tree shadows fall across each slope, they take on a light blue-gray cast, and the photo taken on the roof shows them as a plain light gray. The drone photos were taken in full sun the day after the shingles went on.
Photos Brehm took during the tear-off show the old dark shingles coming off a deck of wide boards rather than plywood sheets. Some of those boards were cut out and replaced with new ones. Over the front porch the roof was opened up and rebuilt with new rafters and new plywood, and dark underlayment went over the deck before the shingles.
The carport photo looks down the hip, where shaped cap shingles overlap in a row along the hip line. A black metal drip edge runs along the roof edges. It is the bent strip at the very edge of the roof that the first row of shingles sits on. On the back slope a vent pipe comes through the shingles, and Brehm's photos show a new flashing going over a vent pipe and sealed around its base.
The last photo was taken from the roof as the sun went down. It looks along the ridge vent, a low vent under the cap shingles that runs along the main ridge and lets warm air out of the attic, which helps limit heat build-up under a Florida roof. Past the end of the house the lot opens onto pasture with a wire fence and trees hung with Spanish moss.
