Shingle Roof Replacement in Dunnellon, FL
A single-story orange stucco home in Dunnellon with a hip roof, an arched front entry on round columns and big oaks close by. In July 2026 the old roof came off down to the plywood and the house got Owens Corning Duration shingles in Brownwood, both names printed on the bundle wrappers in Brehm's job photos.

What you are looking at
The first photo looks down on the wing beside the front entry. The roof slopes down to white gutters on two sides, and a row of thick cap shingles climbs the hip from the gutter corner toward the ridge. Past the eave are a fan palm, a yard closed in by chain-link fence and a sandy lane.
Brownwood is a warm blend. Up close the tabs mix dark brown, charcoal and copper-orange granules, so the roof looks like a patchwork rather than one flat color. Seen from the yard under the white sky in the side photo, it settles into a softer brown with a hint of mauve.
From the front yard the roof breaks into several hips. The entry steps forward in the middle with its own small hip over a cream arch on two round columns, and the main roof rises behind it. The same cap shingles finish every hip in this view.
Up on the slopes sit brown hooded vents, with a rounded hood over each opening. Photos Brehm took during the install show the vents set in a bed of roof cement on the new underlayment before the shingles were laid around them. Along the ridge, a ridge vent runs under the cap shingles. It lets warm attic air out at the peak, which helps limit heat build-up under the Florida sun.
Photos Brehm took in June show the old roof in faded reddish shingles. Photos Brehm took during the tear-off show the plywood deck bare, then covered in a gray peel-and-stick underlayment printed in red, a membrane that sticks right to the wood. Pink-wrapped bundles marked Duration and Brownwood sat stacked on the roof ready to go on.
The white gutters and downspouts were on the house before the job and stayed in place. The close photo above the front walk shows a hip running right down to one of them, over a mulch bed with pink flowers. Taking the roof down to bare plywood meant the new underlayment went onto clean wood, not over an old layer.
